Open Plan Spaces
Maximise your living space by choosing open plan. This can be done by placing double doors or an archway from the living area to the kitchen.
Hallways
Enlarge your hallway by moving the living room wall further into the lounge.
Brick, Stone & Wood
Feature walls, focal points, fireplaces and recesses can be defined in specialist materials such as brick slips, stone cladding and timber boarding veneers.
Lighting
Early consideration into feature lighting allows you to include unique ambiant features such as
- Wall lighting
- Floor lighting
- Recess lighting
- Lighting over kitchen island
- Feature Dining area
It is advisable to think about lighting as early as possible so cabling can be placed in positions to accommodate your lighting features.
Sound and Vision
With early planning, ceiling or wall mounted surround sound can be incorporated into particular rooms, or an integrated house-wide sound and visual system can be cabled throughout.
Bathroom and En Suite Options
Early coordination of sanitary ware will allow structural openings and services to be placed in optimum locations.
Structural alterations can be made to provide feature points – this has to be considered early.
Walk-in Wardrobes
A walk-in wardrobe can be incorporated into a spare room or an existing space in a bedroom.
This can be a unique selling point of the house.
Kitchen Design
Any electric appliance/requirement should be coordinated between kitchen supplier and builder.
Specialist appliances such as American fridge/freezers, cookers, feature lighting, integrated coffee makers, microwaves all require consideration.
Tiling
Modern design often uses tiles in any room, not just in the traditional kitchen & bathroom.
Current ranges go from mosaic to ultra large format in a wide range of colours and surface finish.
Flooring
Floor levels can be adjusted to suit different floor coverings such as wood, carpet or vinyl.
Painting & Wallpaper
Full coordination of wall finishes including feature walls and specification of paint, depending on room use. For example, matt, gloss, eggshell, tough matt, kitchen & bathroom.
Timber trims & doors could also be considered in the same process.
Electrical Requirements
Consider where to have TV, data, phone and electric sockets placed to suit your furniture layout and allow future proofing.
Landscaping
Individual hard landscaping and planting plans can be accommodated within external space.
Decking, slabbing, seeding or turfing, shrubs or trees can be incorporated.
